The project was carried out from 20 October 2022 to 30 June 2023, focusing on the regions of Faridpur, Rajbari, Khulna, Jashore, and Satkhira. During this period, various initiatives were implemented to address local needs and enhance development across these areas. The targeted coverage ensured that the efforts reached diverse communities within these districts, contributing to the overall success of the project.
Key Objectives:
To revolutionize digital farming in Bangladesh by empowering smallholder farmers with real-time, data-driven insights through the GEOBIS digital platform, enabling smarter crop decisions, increased productivity, and sustainable agricultural growth — bridging innovation, technology, and farmer empowerment across the southern and western regions.
Updated the farmer subscription system/software to include targeted districts and new crops,
Integrated a renovated crop model into the SMS panel for better advisory services,
Strengthened the call center by providing training to staff to improve farmer support,
Validated the updated software and SMS panel for efficient operations,
Onboarded 600 farmers into the crop model database for customized recommendation and enhance the Geodata-Based Information Services (GEOBIS) for smallholder farmers in Bangladesh.
