MNT Seed Testing Laboratory was established in 1996, a sister concern of Lal Teer Seed Limited is the first research-based and the largest seed company in the private sector of Bangladesh since l995. MNT Seed Testing Laboratory is the first ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) Accredited Seed Testing Laboratory in Bangladesh to achieve accreditation in 2023 as well as Accredited by the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) in 2022 on the standard of ISO/IEC 17025: 2017. Background history

Bangladesh is a deltaic plain which has a very flat and low topography except the northeast and south-east region. About 10% of the country is hardly 1m above the mean sea level and one-third is under tidal excursions. It has about 710 km long coastline running parallel to the Bay of Bengal.Climate change, the result of global warming and its negative consequence on environment and agro ecosystem is a serious concern of global community of recent age. It is considered as one of the most serious threats to the environment with its potential negative impacts on food security, agriculture, fisheries, human health, biodiversity, water and other natural resources. In Bangladesh, we have evidences of increased frequency of floods, changing rainfall patterns, more frequent droughts and salinity intrusion.

Overview Lal Teer Seed Ltd., the first research-based seed company in Bangladesh, has been pioneering advances in agricultural science since 1996 (formerly East West Seed). Our experimental farm, located in Bashon, Gazipur, spans 30 acres and lies approximately 25 kilometers north of Dhaka. Here, our dedicated R&D team conducts cutting-edge research to develop superior seed varieties. Expert Team Our team consists of 15 highly experienced agricultural professionals, including 5 Ph.D. holders specializing in vegetable research.
