Saline Tolerant Vegetable Cultivation

Key Objectives

Ensure the supply of quality saline-tolerant vegetable seeds to farmers in saline-affected regions.

Promote modern and sustainable farming practices to enhance crop resilience and productivity.

Train stakeholders (farmers, distributors, and extension officers) on improved cultivation techniques.

Project Features

Demo Plot Establishment: 415 demo plots established to test and demonstrate saline-tolerant crop varieties.

Promotional Events:

1,952 events organized, including Field Days, Community Meetings, Farmers’ Trainings, Lead Farmers’ Trainings, Farmers’ Gatherings, and Dealers’ Trainings.

Farmers Reached: 123,620 through promotional activities.

Female Farmers Reached: 35,394 trained and supported through tailored programs.

Training and Capacity Building:

Conducted training for lead farmers, seed dealers, retailers, and extension officers on cultivation techniques.

Distributors Trained: 875 distributors received training on seed quality and distribution practices.
