Md. Golam Mostafa is a regular Bitter gourd farmer, his wife Mariyam Begum is his constant helper in this work. There are 2 more sons in the family,He is a resident of Batason village in Moyenpur union of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur. Although he used to cultivate local Bitter gourd in the past, he has been cultivating MoynaF1 Bitter gourd of Lal teer for the last 3 years. He said that he has got unimaginable success in cultivating this variety. This year he has cultivated this Bitter gourd on 25 Decimal of land, so far he has harvested it 3 times, harvested 600 kg and sold it for 18,000 Taka . He has spent 8000 taka for fertilizer,weeding, pesticides purpose. Talking to him, it is enlighten to us that he was informed about Moyna F1 Bitter gourd from Lal Teer field officer. he started cultivativation with a small plot of land. After getting good yield he cultivated Moyna with 25 decimal land last 2 years. He also said that the characteristics of Moyna are very good.such as [1]. The variety is 50 percent more productive than the local variety. [2]. Mild bitter and delicious to eat . [3]. Cultivable and medium cut all year round. [4]. The weight of the fruit is 150- 160 gram and [5]. Fruits can be collected in 40- 45 days . He happily said one more thing: Although all the Bitter gourd fields have been destroyed by the *Super Cyclone Amphan,* his Bitter gourd fields are still good and green, so he can sell the Bitter gourd at a higher price later. In the end, he thinks he can pick Bitter gourd 8-10 more times and get a yield of 1280- 1400 kg. He is hopeful that he will be able to earn 50,000 Taka. His wish is to cultivate more land in the future and he dreams of educating his sons in good schools and making them good person.
